Welcome to another Sunday lovelies! That means Book of the Week time!  Currently, this book is top of my TBR pile for November.  Yup, I'm still gonna try and read and actually get productive things done while I'm doing NaNo...can I do it? My track record says no, however, this year, I'm armed with my bullet journal and somewhat better time management skills.  So, let's see if I can keep my reading, reviewing, and blogging going while I'm working on that 50,000 words!  Expect a blog post about my nanoing coming up tomorrow!

Book of the Week: Stardust

Hello Lovelies!! Welcome to another Sunday! You know what that means...book of the week time! This week's book is one of my favorites.  I've always loved the worlds that Neil Gaiman crafted and his expertise when it comes to storytelling.  I couldn't even begin to fathom a top ten list of Neil Gaiman favorites, however, this one would probably be somewhere near the top.  Maybe one of these days I'll humor you and come up with a top ten Neil Gaiman list.  

For now, however, you'll have to settle with this week's book of the week.  If you've not read this fantasy story, I highly recommend it.  It was the book that introduced me to Neil Gaiman so many years ago.

This story is by far one of my favorites. A love story involving young Tristran Thorn attempting to win the cold heart of Victoria.  She gives him a daunting task - to retrieve the fallen star that they watch fall in the night sky.  However, Tristran quickly learns that outside the walls of their quaint little village, the Faerie, and everything else are nothing like what they seem. 

I instantly fell in love with the storytelling, the whimsy and the life that Gaiman breathes into each and every character that he creates.  This is a story that I constantly go back to every so often to remember why it was that I fell in love with this masterful writer.

BotW: The Fireman by Joe Hill

Welcome to another glorious Sunday!  Fall is slowly easing its way into Florida...and it can gladly take any remaining traces of Hurricane Matthew and shove them out into the middle of the ocean where it can no longer do any damage.  Nope, not a little bitter at all...-shifty eyes- 

Anyway! 

On to this week's book of the week, which is actually my current read...and one that I will not be reading around bedtime because well...I don't read Stephen King before bed and subsequently I do not read his son's writings before bed either.  

The newest release by Joe Hill is a work of pure devilish deliciousness.  I am loving each and every dark, twisted moment of it!  Definitely a good book to read for Halloween!

It's Sunday! Welcome to another edition of Book of the Week! First one for September!  Holy cow! We only have 4 months left in 2016...and what a year it has been.   This book is absolutely one of my favorites that I've read this week, and I will probably end up re-reading it over and over again.

This is one of my favorite books and honestly I'm usually so comforted by Neil Gaiman's works...even Sandman.  I love his storytelling and the stories that he's crafted in each of his books.  They are something that I always go back to time and time again.  I've even got a re-read of American Gods in the works for either this month or next!

BotW: Widower's Aura

Okay, so it's Wednesday.  I'm a little late.  Blame the cold that decided to move in this past weekend and is still here! Yeah, loads of fun that.  However, I'm still getting book of the week up (while this week is still going so that's a plus right?!). 

This book is a new favorite of mine, recently released on August 18th, and written by a dear friend of mine...whose blog tour I'm also participating in...so today's posts will ALL be Widower's Aura themed...including a review and a Top 10 by A.J. Renee! There will also be a review by your's truly!

This week's featured book will SERIOUSLY hit you in ALL the Feels!!!

I needed to read this book before going to see the movie (or finding it on RedBox or on Netflix or somewhere...because that's just how I roll).  If the movie is as good as the book, then I know my feelings will be in a useless pile upon the floor once I'm done seeing this movie.  I finished this book and simply could not even...just...no.  All the feels.  All the things.

I do not recommend reading this book without tissues or something to catch and wipe all that rain water that will suddenly be on your face throughout this book.  Just sayin...

Yes, the Downton Abbey gif was necessary for this week's book of the week! Seriously, it was.  I dare you to find a reason it isn't!  DARE YOU! Beyond that, I still need to finish watching this series, however, this week's book of the week is actually the very first book of the Austentatious Book Club, a group that I am part of on Goodreads.

It has been ages since I've read this book.  I am definitely looking forward to this and re-reading this book which I hate to say it, I've not read since high school...which was ungodly long ago.

I think that's all I have to say about this one.  Just a lil bit.

So, for serious.  This book was FANTASTIC! The series commitment thing...is SO TOTALLY A THING with this book.  It's a trilogy.  Three books.  I am actually deliciously loving this series and have recently gotten the 2nd book on my kindle from the library.  Beyond that, I actually want to see the television series - and I'm hoping that it has actually stayed true to the books.  Because this is a fear of mine...it is a thing.  I have had it realized with Silver Linings Playbook.  Loved the book.  Hated the movie. Just no.

BotW: The Night Circus

Happy Sunday lovelies!  Another week has begun and that means it is time to share with you the book of the week!  I know, I missed last week - I blame acute bronchitis.  Now, I have meds and all sorts of things that are making me feel loads better!  Thankfully, I am using my bullet journal for plotting and planning and hopefully getting myself back on track to ensure that I keep creating awesome things for all of you to indulge in! 

Anyway, this book of the week is one of my favorites so far of 2016, and I want to read it again.  However, not so much adding it directly to my tbr pile because well...we all know the state of my TBR pile. 

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern is absolutely wonderful.  Charming.  Brilliant.  Engrossing.  I finished this book in two days, and I absolutely fell in love.  It can possibly be a little bit confusing at first with the shifting POV however, it is well, well worth the read.  

Any and everyone I can recommend this book to I greatly will!  Read this book.  OH MY GOD read this book! 

Yes, there is the circus aspect, however there is also a competition between two young illusionists.  That competition is an interesting little twist to things, and makes the book all the more enjoyable because it takes a little bit for them to realize who they are competing against. The imagery in this novel is absolutely stunning and I want to live in this world.

BoTW: A Court of Thorns and Roses

Hello lovelies!  Welcome to another Sunday!  I do hope you had a good weekend and I hope your week is filled with all the fun and wonderment that comes with reading a good book!  It's Sunday, and we all know what that means here at the confessional...time for book of the week!  

Honestly, do you know how HARD this decision is for me each week?! Honestly, I have to pick one awesome book to feature and ninety-nine percent of the time I have absolutely no idea what book I'm going to feature...because honestly, I read so many and there are so many that I want so desperately.  However, this week's book I've had planned since last week! I know, look at me being all you know pre-planning and things! 

A Court of Thorns and Roses

Sarah J. Maas

This will be the second series by Sarah J. Maas that I'll be reading and honestly I am looking forward to it.  I've heard an abundance of good things about this book and I am anxious to read it as well as a bit weary.  Mainly, because I hope that it lives up to the hype and that it doesn't fall flat.  Books that tend to have so much hype tend to fall flat with me, however, I do like her Throne of Glass series so hopefully I will like this one. 

If you've read this one, please tell me that this one is absolutely wonderful like her other series?! 

BotW: Locked Inside

Welcome to Sunday loves!  You know what that means, it's book of the week time!!! This past week has been rough for me.  Especially due to the shooting that happened in Orlando a week ago today.  I will forever be haunted by the loss of friends and members of the LGBTQ+ community.  I weighed my options when choosing a book for this week, because there are so very many that I can feature - some that I've read, some that I've not. 

However, my decision comes with the knowledge that this woman is a fantastic writer and someone I have greatly enjoyed getting to know through a group on Facebook.  I won a copy of this book in a give away last Christmas, and only recently (in the last few months) got around to reading it and I was not disappointed.  It was also one of the first pieces of lesbian fiction I'd read, period.  I highly encourage you to track down this book and other works by this author, you won't be disappointed.  I'm also including a link to my review of this book, check it out.  

Locked Inside

If you've read The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, are a psychology or medical student you are somewhat familiar with locked-in syndrome.  I'd been familiar with it in vague terms from watching shows on television (as I'm a fan of Grey's Anatomy and House), so I wasn't completely unfamiliar with what Belinda was experiencing at this particular moment in her life.  

I like the characters in this book, their struggles are unique to them and yet bring them together to hopefully give them each that glimmer of hope that love might actually be a possibility between the two women despite various obstacles and fears.  

BotW: End of Watch

Good Sunday Morning lovelies!!! Did you miss me? I hope so!  It's Sunday, and we all know what that means!!! Book of the Week! YAY! Beyond that, last week seriously made my week!! Why? Because a couple of hours after I posted my Bibliophile Wish List post....I got an email alert from my local library...my digital hold for End of Watch came in!!! HAPPY DANCE!  I just started reading it this morning (mainly because I have a strict no Stephen King in the dark policy). 

So, guess what this week's book of the week is?!

Book of the Week: Wicked

Okay, so this is two...or is it 3 days late since it is now Tuesday and this usually goes up on Sunday?  Either way, it's up now!  So I didn't slack too much! 

I've been obsessed with all things Wizard of Oz for some time now, and one of my absolute favorite series of the retelling of the story is The Wicked Years series by Gregory Maguire.  

The first book of this series is this week's book of the week!  So without further adieu...this week's book of the week...

Wicked

I love everything about this story.  The background given for the Wicked Witch of the West, who wasn't really all that wicked at all.  This re-creation of the land of Oz is something that makes me enjoy things by Gregory Maguire.  His writing is absolutely wonderful, and the world creation or rather re-creation from the original Wizard of Oz is stunning. 

The fact that this book has been turned into a Broadway musical, filled with a fantastic soundtrack, does not surprise me in the slightest.  I must say, that I am however, some what relatively new to the Wicked bandwagon, despite my love for all things Wizard of Oz.  I'd only originally stumbled upon the series in late 2012, when I'd finally checked the book out of the library - and ultimately have been given most of the series as gifts from friends.  I might only be missing one of the books, I'm not certain.  

However, I do highly recommend this wonderfully rich re-creation of the Land of Oz.  

Book of the Week: The Martian by Andy Weir

It's SUNDAY!  You know what that means!  It's time for another Book of the Week...though seriously, do you have any idea how hard it is to pick one fantastic book to feature each week?!  It's insanely hard!  

I cannot believe February is almost over! We have ONE more full day left before we are officially in March....the third month of the year.  Holy crap where has the rest of the year gone?  I mean, it's already passing by so very quickly!  

Anyway, without further adieu, here is this week's Book of the Week! 

The Martian

This book is absolutely fantastic!  It had me laughing from start to finish.  I love all the characters in this book and I'm actually looking forward to seeing the movie and I really, really hope that they kept in some of my favorite parts! 

Mark Watney became one of the first people to walk on Mars.  However, now he's certain he'll be the first person to die there.  A dust storm forced his crew to evacuate, nearly kills Mark.  Well, the storm didn't kill him, and now Mark is stranded on Mars with no way to even send a signal to Earth to let them know he's alive.  Even still, it would be a chance of them getting to him before his supplies ran out...which probably wouldn't happen. 

Though, there is a good chance Mark won't be starving to death.  Nah, damaged machinery, unforgiving environment, or just 'human error' is likely to kill him first.  Will his ingenuity, engineering skills, and refusal to quit be enough to keep him alive and overcome the insurmountable odds against him? 

I highly recommend you check this book out, and I'd love to know what you think if you've already read it!  

Book of the Week: Suicide Notes from Beautiful Girls

Welcome to another week!  That means, Book of the Week time!  Yes, I know I forgot last week's book of the week...don't judge me.  Panic attacks and anxiety attacks are not known to be the best of means to get productive things done...just saying.  Anyway! 

This week's book, you can find listed on my TBR for the month...right there *points to the shiny box*  Chances are I will actually get it done by the end of the month and it won't have to carry on another month...This is what I'm hoping anyway!

I've had this book for a few months (got it as an early Christmas gift because my friends know that books are always a win for me) and I'm actually looking forward to reading it.  

I've read mixed things about it, and ultimately I'm willing to give it a shot. It's been on my wishlist for a while, and was actually near the top of it until of course it became mine in one form or another.

BotW: Jan 24-Jan 30 - Go Set a Watchman - Harper Lee

Hello lovelies!  I realize, I'm a day late, but at least you are getting that pretty little book of the week!   Love you all and not even gonna waste time chattering.  Let's get down to business.  

This week's book of the week is definitely a good one, and one I'm decidedly getting ready to sink my teeth into (after I finish my library books...so super late this month or early next month).  

Go Set a Watchman

Okay, everyone who has read To Kill a Mockingbird knows that this book is a good thing.  Seriously.  To know that Harper Lee has published a second book makes me very happy.  I always enjoyed To Kill a Mockingbird even when I read it for high school English.  

This novel is set two decades after To Kill a Mockingbird and we once again get to revisit Atticus Finch when his daughter "Scout" returns home from New York for a visit.  Civil rights tensions are prevalent throughout this story as it takes place during political movements and tensions that helped transform the south during that time period.  

Many of the characters from To Kill a Mockingbird show their faces in this novel, and it provides us with an up close and personal view of Jean Louises' transformation during her bittersweet homecoming.  Secrets are learned, and many things are thrown into question. 

I am anticipating the need for tissues when I ultimately get into this book.  I will more than likely pair it with a re-read of To Kill a Mockingbird which won't take me anytime at all to get through.  

BotW: 1/10-1/16: The Wrath & the Dawn - Renee Ahdieh

Welcome to this week's Book of the Week! YAY! Another week where I remembered to do the things I was supposed to...at least this post anyway...and at least I'm starting the week off right then.  ANYWAY! Let us not discuss my failures....or rather my inability to stick to the schedule that I SET UP FOR MYSELF! .... Moving on! 

This week's book of the week is another that is on my current TBR list for January, and that I own and will get to.  Provided I can stop doing bad things to my library card and bringing home more books that have to be read on a deadline.

I've actually had this in my possession for a couple of months, as I'd won it from a giveaway on Goodreads...while I'd actually had it checked out to read from the library.  Yeah...see how my luck works sometimes! I've heard good lots and lots of good about this book. I plan on getting to this book at some point this month (as I said above) but as we know I have horrible issues with self restraint when it comes to doing bad things to my library card. 

Anyway...about this book...

Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan, is a monster. Each night he takes a new bride.  However, each night he has a silk cord wrapped around their throat.  Things are progressing in such away...and ultimately Shahrzad's dearest friend has become one of Khalid's victims.  Now, she is vowing vengeance and her plan involves volunteering to be Khalid's next bride.  She vows to stay alive, but to end his reign of terror once and for all.  

This is a retelling of A Thousand and One Nights, and it is decidedly one that I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into hopefully sometime before the end of the month! I was insanely pleased by winning this book from the publisher from a giveaway.  It is so very pretty to look at!
