Wish List Wednesday!!

I am a bibliophile.  There will always be books and book related things that I want.  This is just a fact of life.  If you've not gathered this fact then you are in for a somewhat harsh awakening.  However, I am much like Ariel with her want for gadgets and gizmos...I want more.  Loads more!

Here are some of the books on my wish list :D

Wish List Wednesday: End of the Month Releases

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY!!!

Every booknerd has a wish list...it's usually a synonym for their TBR pile...which as we all know grows exponentially every time another book is read.  Seriously.  God forbid you've read the first book in a new series...EVERY other book that comes out in that series gets added to the TBR pile.  Don't even try to deny it...you are all guilty of it!  I know I am, unashamedly so!

Anyway, here are some of the books that have come out in the last day or so that have wormed their way onto my wish list (read TBR pile)!

The Selection is one of my favorite series, and the fact that Kiera Cass has a new book coming out that isn't in the series, makes me happy.  I want to see more from her.  I am still missing a couple of books from the Selection, but I'll fix that eventually.  For now, I want this book...seriously.  The cover is pretty and the premise of the story sounds absolutely fantastic.

The following is taken from the blurb,

"You must never do anything that might expose our secret. This means that, in general, you cannot form close bonds with humans. You can speak to us, and you can always commune with the Ocean, but you are deadly to humans. You are, essentially, a weapon. A very beautiful weapon. I won't lie to you, it can be a lonely existence, but once you are done, you get to live. All you have to give, for now, is obedience and time..."

Cannot wait to get my hands on this in print or ebook.

Charlie Jane Anders is the editor-in-chief over at io9.com and this book has definitely caught my attention.  I am definitely looking forward to this book, I love reading her reviews over on io9.com, and I've not had the privilage of reading any of her books before.  I will have to remedy this situation...seriously!  Beyond that, I think part of the reason this one ended up on my wish list is because the cover is absolutely WONDERFUL.  The birds against the background...really does make it look like birds in the sky.  Sorry, I'm a sucker for a pretty cover...which tends to lead me into trouble with books... but oh well!

Here's a bit from the blurb -

But now they're both adults, living in the hipster mecca San Francisco, and the planet is falling apart around them. Laurence is an engineering genius who's working with a group that aims to avert catastrophic breakdown through technological intervention into the changing global climate. Patricia is a graduate of Eltisley Maze, the hidden academy for the world's magically gifted, and works with a small band of other magicians to secretly repair the world's ever-growing ailments. Little do they realize that something bigger than either of them, something begun years ago in their youth, is determined to bring them together--to either save the world, or plunge it into a new dark ages.

What books are you looking forward to?

Wishlist Wednesday!

With Christmas a short 2 weeks away (16 days not that I'm counting or anything...) the next few Wishlist Wednesdays will feature books that are on my wishlist and may just end up on your wishlist.  A couple of these I wouldn't mind in digital, but there are a couple on this list that I want in physical copy so I can have them in my hot little hands! Let's see if you can guess which ones..

I recently finished this one, on loan from my local library.  HOLY HELL! I am absolutely in love with Stephen King's work and this has once again proven to be a stellar group of stories that I've absolutely fallen in love with. I will not read a single one of these stories after dark or before bed because well, I have enough trouble sleeping.  Twisted dreams inspired by Stephen King's stories, yeah, I'll pass. There was a reason he was not allowed to tell his children bedtime stories.  I highly recommend this anthology, and it is well worth the purchase price!

Fourth book in The Lunar Chronicles, and I hate to say it I've not read Scarlet yet, and I need to before I even come close to adding this to my current list of books I own.  Either way, I have been looking forward to this book for ages.  To know that this series came out of a National Novel Writing Month work, absolutely blows my mind and continues to provide me with encouragement to actually continue to plug away at my own writing and maybe I'll be awesome like Marissa Meyer.

This one, previously featured in Rogues edited by George R.R. Martin, and already on my read list has been published recently (last month) as it's own stand alone novella.  I have found that I am hit or miss with Gillian Flynn's work, mainly because I've been left feeling kinda weird after finishing the last two books I've read by her.  However, I actually really, really liked this particular story and would be please to own this one.

This.  Book.  Makes.  Me.  Happy.  Seriously! The Gods of H.P. Lovecraft! GIVE ME NOW! This anthology releases in TWO DAYS! December 11, the twelve deities of the Lovecraftian mythos are set free in these pages!

Cthulhu (Adam Nevill) – Yog-Sothoth (Martha Wells) – Azathoth (Laird Barron) – Nyarlathotep (Bentley Little) – Shub-Niggurath (David Liss) – Tsathoggua (Brett Talley) – The Mi-Go (Christopher Golden & James A. Moore) – Night-gaunts (Jonathan Maberry) – Elder Things (Joe Lansdale) – Great Race (Rachel Caine) – Yig (Douglas Wynne) – The Deep Ones (Seanan McGuire).  That line up, it just makes me very happy! Besides, who doesn't love a little Lovecraft with their holidays?

WORDS.  I NEED TO FIND WORDS. This book, much like the Gods of H.P. Lovecraft, makes me SQUEE like a good little fangirl.  Guillermo Del Toro...*swoon* I'm seriously addicted to this man's work.  His movies.  I've got at least 2 books of his on my wish list, among other things.  Seriously, I will love the person for ever who gets me this book...like not even remotely joking!

Bibliophile's Wish List: Julie Kagawa Edition

Here you'll find things that I wish I had in my hot little hands like...yesterday.  It may take me a year to get to them (*cough*or two *cough*) but eventually I will read them.  However, as the image above states...books are happiness...they are really...definitely happiness.  I want more, and chances are I will have to start dedicating my birthday and Christmas Amazon gift cards to particular authors so I can get all the books on my wish list (though I'm not sure -that- is a good idea either...but hey, whatever works right?)

Anyway!

On to my wish list...though the proper question is where to start, because I've read some of these books, but I do not own them...thus, they are still on the wish list!

I own the first three in this series.  I own a couple of the novellas in between as well.  However, I do not have book four to call my own.  That needs to change.  Seriously.  I love this series and I love Julie Kagawa's writing style.  This I think was one of my favorite books in the series - and it was filled with ALL THE FEELS!

The 2nd Book in The Iron Fey: The Call of the Forgotten.  I have book one, and I need to know what happens! Seriously.  I mean, with as addicted as I am with this storyline starting from the Iron Fey series...then I should have this book, RIGHT?

The 3rd book in The Iron Fey: The Call of the Forgotten.  The reason why I want this book....see above! Third book.  Third.  Book.  MUST HAVE!  Have to know what happens!

This is the 3rd book in the Blood of Eden series, and I've read the first, I own the 2nd (and still need to read it).  However, I have the urge to read the entire series from the beginning, and that means that I need this book in my hot little hands! Seriously! There are so many things I need to know about this series and I can only find them out if I have the third book!

New series.  Seriously.  NEW! Book 1 in the Talon series.  I've not been steered wrong with any of her books so far, and I'm fairly certain that I will absolutely be addicted to this series...once I get it in my hands!

LOOK AT IT! Isn't it so pretty and blue?  Rogue...book 2 in the Talon series...why must I have it? BOOK 2! If I have book 1 I need book 2...obviously!  Come on, get with the program people!

What are some of the things on your wishlist?
